Sulfur Cycle
My name is Joshua Lorenzo L. Villamin. I am a fourth year computer engineering student at Don Bosco Technical College in Mandaluyong City. I am here to discuss the Sulfur Cycle.

Sulfur Cycle Diagram

First let me tell you a little about sulfur, sulfur is the 10th most abundant element in the universe. is a brittle, yellow, tasteless and odorless non-metallic element. Sulfur production of steel, rubber, inorganic chemicals, matches, fumigants and glass.
It is the collection of processes by which sulfur moves to and from minerals and living systems. Such biogeochemical cycles are important in geology because they affect many minerals Biogeochemical cycles and are also important for life because sulfur is an essential element, being a constituent of many proteins and co-factors.
 Steps of sulfur cycle
  • Mineralization of organic sulfur into inorganic forms.
  • Oxidation of hydrogen sulfide, sulfide, and elemental sulfur to sulfate.
  • Reduction of sulfate to sulfide.
  • Incorporation of sulfide into organic compounds (including metal-containing derivatives).
